Q4 2023 Music & Podcasts App Trends in France

As the year 2023 wrapped up, the performance of the top music and podcast applications in France showed interesting trends, based on data from Sensor Tower. Here's a breakdown of how these apps fared in the fourth quarter.

Spotify - Music and Podcasts saw its revenue peak at $164K in the first week of December, with a noticeable upward trend from September's $110K. Downloads hit a high of 128K in the last week of December, while weekly active users fluctuated, ending the quarter with 13.6M.

Shazam: Find Music & Concerts did not generate revenue but experienced a substantial increase in downloads during the holiday season, reaching 64K in the final week of December. The app's weekly active users saw a rise, concluding the year with 4.3M users.

Deezer: Music Player, Podcast showed a revenue trend with some fluctuations, starting at $1M in late September and ending at $840K in December. Downloads for Deezer surged to 69K towards the end of December, while weekly active users dipped slightly to 3.9M.

Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts observed its revenue rise and fall throughout the quarter, beginning at $54K and closing at $50K. The app's downloads saw an increase, peaking at 41K in the last week of December. Weekly active users also showed growth, ending at 515K.

Lastly, Radio France - podcast, direct, despite not earning revenue, had a noticeable uptick in downloads in December, reaching 35K. Its weekly active users experienced a decline, finishing the quarter at 385K.
